I should have known not to tune into a station that has NYC in the call letters. What a boring litany of the same tired old arguments.

Iraq took our focus off Al-Qaeda
Saddam wasn't a threat
The war was a recruiting tool for AQ.
Blah, blah, blah.

When Omar was trying to refute the argument, the host cut him off.

I only got through about half before switching it off. Maybe Omar rallied in the end and told those people where to stick it, but I doubt it.

Kafir,
You seem to be stuck in 2004.

"Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it"
Winston Churchill

Iraq is going badly. John Burn tells Tavis Smiley on PBS, "that we had better start praying for divine intervention, because the trajectory of violence has gone the wrong way this year while we have drawn down our troop presence to 50,000 outside of the cities. Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan are succeeding at the moment, Burns claims, and by next year Obama may be faced with a situation where he’ll have to pull troops out of two fronts as they collapse..."

Iraq is a disaster because:

1) There are more fundamentalists in the Iraqi government now, than in the last 100 years - Muhannad al-Zhainy.

2) It's a continuation of the 1400 year Shi'a - Sunni conflict.

3. Islam and Shariah Law are inimical to democracy.

4. Expulsion of the secular classes, including the Christians. Before the war, Christians and other religious minorities such as Mandaeans made up 30 percent of Iraq's professional class.

How prescient was Gertrude Bell:

I don't for a moment doubt that the final authority must be in the hands of the Sunnis, in spite of their numerical inferiority; otherwise you will have a mujtahid-run, theocratic state, which is the very devil.”

The US has wasted trillions in Iraq and Afghanistan to nation build, but LOL, the nation builders like Omar aren't there, corruption is rampant, the military is untrainable (you have to watch out or they shoot American soldiers).

Oh, Omar. Darn it. Is this on iPod or YouTube or anywhere I can listen to it? I've been away from the computer because my brother was in the hospital and I've been playing nurse Ratchet. haha. Please let me know. I hope all is well. I can't believe anyone thinks that Sadr's support is a good thing...well, except for Obama. Ugh.

To be a upright lenient being is to procure a philanthropic of openness to the mankind, an skill to trusteeship aleatory things beyond your own pilot, that can lead you to be shattered in unequivocally outermost circumstances for which you were not to blame. That says something exceedingly weighty about the fettle of the principled compulsion: that it is based on a conviction in the unpredictable and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a shop than like a treasure, something somewhat tenuous, but whose mere particular handsomeness is inseparable from that fragility.
