I have to disagree with this reasoning. I think this is not the right metric to consider when deciding the final number of troops--the reaction will be the same regardless of whether the number was 100, or 10,000.
You have to remember the political situation here in the USA.
ReplyDeleteWith President Obama as the Commander-in-Chief and Democrats in control of the US Senate, the general has no choice but to say such things. He knows he is not receiving any support from above.
Things will change in Nov 2012 when we have a new Republican president and Republicans control the senate.
